John Cameron – our pastor at CityChurch Wellington is preaching up a storm – I have to say God is totally speaking to me through his preaching lately. This week the topic was “Give trials a try” – how naff does that sound!! But James 1 says that when trials come along in your life to:
- Let them be an opportunity for joy – I guess to see what God is going to do through this trial
- That your endurance has a chance to grow and then when that happens it says you will be ready for anything!
- If you need wisdom and if you want to know what God wants you to do, to just ask him and he’ll gladly tell you, be expecting his answer – don’t doubt that he’ll answer you.

1 Corinthians 3:12 tells us that a trial is our friend – because it makes us realise what is important in our lives – what is truly of value.

But his 3 main points were:
1. Nothing you will take into eternity can be damaged or destroyed by a trial – phew sweet as!
2. Don’t compromise your integrity during a trial as what you do in a trial will determine who you are when you come out of the trial. See how Job persevered till the end and God gave him twice the blessing he had to start off with!
3. Trials threaten and mess with our security and stability. Our security needs to be built on solid rock – like built on a rock will withstand floods etc, God is the rock we need to build our lives on.

I'm back from my trip to Australia!

This is a pic of me at Telstra Stadium in Sydney - I went with my little brother Brent, it's where the olympics were etc (if you didn't know). Check out my new pink Chuck Taylors!

On our first Saturday night in Surfers, Brett Atkinson - my buddy from Surfcity had his birthday party/house warming - his house just happened to be an apartment in the Q1 Tower - the new really tall building in Surfers"tallest residential tower in the southern hemisphere" apparently. So that was fun, it was sooo flash! And caught up with lots of Surfcity people too which was great! And he had all 4 Singstar games! And my brother Brent and I were singing all the Kiwi ones - like Exponents etc. Oh by the way, the Theme was "B". Lots of bogans there and brett was Braveheart, Brent was a Brisbane Bronco, and Bob Marley was there too (as you can see below)...

My brother and I hired scooters and went for a hoon up the Spit and down to Broadbeach, that was fun... hmmm something to put on my list for Santa this christmas!Byeeeee Eleanor - she came to stay a night with us in our apartment on the Gold Coast (view of the broadwater lagoon at Labrador and up to Runaway Bay), then I took her to the airport on Thursday to see her off for London. (sob sob... how will i cope?!)We went up the top of Mt Coot-tha yesteday before we flew out. Ok I must admit I don't exactly know Brisbane like the back of my hand as I claim, and Brent also failed me in his map reading skills, but we got up there eventually! This is Brent, Dad, Mum and Aunty Kath with the sky scrapers of Brisbane CBD in the background.

There was lots of good shopping to be done - i had to buy a polka dot headband in Brisbane to fit in with everyone at Queens St Mall! Will be good to start my new job next week and clear my credit card!

Thanks Lee and Mark, and Nicola for letting me stay with you guys - was sooo great to catch up!

Good news! I got a B- for my NZ Society paper - sweet - B's get degrees! And I got offered a job - I'm going to be a Property Administrator! Very cool, as if you know me, I might just have a slight interest in the property market...!!! How exciting, so I guess I'll be starting that in 2 weeks when I'm back from Aussie.

Erin - my sister, got an A- for her Accounting paper. Go Erin!

This is a picture of me pistol shooting on the Watsons farm just before Easter (same kind of pistol as the police use). I got 8 out of 10 shots on the target (which was really small).

Surely BrainPort can help fix or at least aleviate my dizzyness (or make it less severe) - see http://wistechnology.com/article.php?id=2319 and the comment from Nancy. I've just sent an email to the MDDS foundation to see if she's still having that success and if anyone else has had success with it... here's hoping I get a good/encouraging reply back!

New website to check out - www.youropinions.co.nz and you can go in and rate places you've worked - so you can go in and see what people wrote about different workplaces to see if you want to really work there!! And you can give your opinions on other stuff too. Happened to be set up by my old PwC buddy Nick.
